Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 1, 2025  ·  Last updated: July 10, 2026

1. Information You Provide

When you use HomePro Defender, you may provide: your name, email address, and password when registering; business and contractor information such as company name, trade type, license number, service area, address, and phone numbers; county, city, and case-related details; uploaded files including contracts, invoices, change orders, photos, notices, PDFs, and other construction documents; text messages, emails, and communications you paste or upload into Case Files; case descriptions, key facts, timelines, and notes; generated documents and AI chat messages; and support communications sent to us.

2. Automatically Collected Information

We and our infrastructure providers may automatically collect: browser type, device type, and operating system; usage and diagnostic data such as pages visited and features used; authentication and login events; and IP address information processed by our hosting and authentication providers. We use local storage and session storage in your browser to maintain session state and temporary checkout preferences. Our public acquisition funnel uses Google Ads/Google Analytics and Meta Pixel events to measure visits, guest-mode entry, checkout starts, subscriptions, and onboarding completion. These events use an anonymous visitor/session identifier and do not include passwords, payment details, or case-file content.

3. Billing Information

When paid billing is available, payment processing is handled by Stripe. HomePro Defender does not receive or store your full card number, card verification code, or bank account credentials. Stripe may provide us with subscription status, payment status, invoice records, and customer identifiers, which we store in your profile to manage subscription access. For details on how Stripe handles payment data, see stripe.com/privacy.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: authenticate your account and maintain your session; create and operate your Case Files and document records; process and display documents you upload, including text extraction and image review by AI; generate AI-assisted responses, document drafts, and important-date organization, including working dates derived from user-supplied trigger facts and reviewed rule formulas; manage subscription access and, when paid billing is available, process billing through Stripe; provide customer support; detect and prevent fraud or misuse; and improve the Service based on usage patterns.

5. AI Processing

When you use the AI chat, document review, or document generation features, your messages, uploaded document content (including extracted text and images), and case information may be transmitted to third-party AI providers to generate responses and drafts. These providers process your content on our behalf under applicable data processing terms. We do not claim that AI providers never retain or train on transmitted data; you should review the relevant AI provider policies. We do not transmit unnecessary personal information to AI systems beyond what is required to answer your query or process your document.

6. Service Providers and Disclosures

We share data with service providers to the extent necessary to operate the platform, including: Base44 (infrastructure, authentication, database, hosting); Stripe (payment processing and billing); and AI providers (response and document generation). We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users or the public.

7. Legal Compliance and Safety

We may disclose your information to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful government requests, enforce our Terms of Service, or protect the rights, property, or safety of HomePro Defender, our users, or others.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information and Case File data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter, unless you request deletion. Billing records may be retained as required by applicable law or Stripe's standard retention practices. AI conversation logs may be retained for a limited period to support debugging and service improvement.

9. Account Deletion and Data Requests

You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at support@homeprodefender.com. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable timeframe. Some data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention or legal compliance. Stripe-held billing data is subject to Stripe's own retention and deletion policies.

10. Security Practices

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including authenticated access controls, encrypted data transmission (TLS), and access logging. Private file uploads are stored in protected storage accessible only through authenticated signed URLs. No security system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We do not claim compliance with certifications we have not verified (such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or ISO 27001).

11. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You may update your profile information in Account Settings. If you have an active subscription, you may request cancellation through the available billing controls or by contacting us. When paid workspace billing is available, it is processed through Stripe for new accounts. You may request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. If you are a California or Texas resident, you may have additional rights under applicable state privacy law, including the right to know what data we collect and to request deletion. Contact us to exercise these rights.

12. Texas Privacy Rights

Texas residents may have rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) or other applicable Texas law, including rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain data processing. To submit a request, contact us at support@homeprodefender.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

13. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

14. United States Processing

The Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after an updated policy is posted constitutes your acknowledgment of the changes. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you.
